Easter On The Norfolk Broads Day 2

Saturday was a bit grey looking and windy but despite this a trip was planned on the Dillam Canal.

I decided to take my trusty Nootka paddle which I am really getting to like and the Concensus paddle.

We waited as people assembled ready for the off.

and then it was all systems go.

Around a bend we came upon this windmill with a touch of “grand design” next to it.

There is also a touch of grandeur about this building despite its tin roof.

We paddled on

This time we took a left turn instead of the right fork that leads to a lock where I went before and found ourselves in a nice lunch spot by this bridge.

Boats were hauled out for lunch

and some took a minute to try other's boats.

Then we made our way back as the wind had got up.

This was particularly so on the last section and we were back before the winds got even stronger and harder for the rest of the day as the weather deteriorated.

Even so it was a lovely paddle and although I don't normally venture out that often in such high winds it was great to get out as I hadn't been paddling for a long time.
